Femmena Dress Boutique

88 Atlantic Ave., Lynbrook

While Stephanie Vacchio opened her “brick and mortar” shop just this past September, she has been in the business for awhile. First, she sold dresses from her home. Then she added a website. As it thrived, she saw the need to expand, took over a storefront, and Femmena Dress Boutique was born. Owning a store was actually her life-long dream, even after earning a master’s degree in journalism.

Vacchio works long hours and adores every minute. She always felt that small boutiques were intimidating, so she wants hers to be just the opposite. The ambience is cozy. She strives to meet every taste and budget. Sizes run from 0 to 30. While she started out selling dresses and gowns, she now carries casual attire and accessories too.

Femmena means “feminine woman” in Italian, which captures the boutique’s objective. Women should enjoy their shopping experience, feeling comfortable, beautiful, and knowing they can be the center of attention.

“We style each customer,” said Vacchio. “We offer suggestions, help them choose, and show them how to wear things in multiple ways. We can dress a bride for her honeymoon or for her rehearsal dinner, the mother of the bride or groom, a prom girl, or a sweet sixteen. Whether it’s your teenage daughter, you or your mother, we can come up with something special.”

Some of the names at Femmena Boutique are Jovani, known for elegant evening wear, Faviana for formal wear and prom, and Blush Prom. Terani offers special occasion attire for a prom or for a mother of the bride/groom. Alternative Apparel is where to turn for chic lounge wear for going to the gym or for a casual night out.

Femmena Dress Boutique is a full-service personalized dress salon, offering everything from dress alterations to a beauty bar with a makeup artist. From finding the perfect fit, to making sure every bead is in place, the staff helps each customer look her very best. Their first step is always conversation, so they understand exactly what the customer needs and wants. One designated trained special-event stylist will work with the customer from start to finish.

The store carries a limited quantity of each item, and gets new things in every week. “Like” Femmena Dress Boutique on Face Book for specials and events, at Call for the holiday hours.
