The NuHealth staff expressed their appreciation to the entire Disaster Medical Assistance Team for their support and hard work during the past week in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. The group supplemented the Nassau University Medical Center staff as the hospital’s census had increased by almost two hundred patients after the hurricane.

Since the group had expressed a desire for New York-style pizza, staff ordered twenty-two pizza pies as a farewell gift to the 45 members of the DMAT group along with some of the NuHealth staff that had worked alongside with them.
