Six decades of dedication
Donovan Berthoud/Herald
Donovan Berthoud/Herald The East Meadow Jewish Center, the community’s Conservative Jewish synagogue, is celebrating its 60th anniversary throughout the year.

Among the events the synagogue is organizing to commemorate the anniversary are a square dance later this month, a Purim masquerade dance and adult carnival in February and a cantor’s concert in June. “I think it’s a time for us to reflect upon our past,” said Androphy, “and to renew ourselves for the next 60 years.”
