At their 3rd Annual Talent Show, the Bowling Green K-Kids brought the local K-Family of Service Leadership Clubs together to raise funds for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital and the new Kiwanis International Foundation (KIF) Worldwide Service Project - ELIMINATE.

Hosted by Kiwanis K-Kids Distinguished Immediate Past President Julianne Hallett and 2011-2012 President Devon Rafanelli, the talent show treated the audience to 21 vocal, instrumental and dance performances. Performers included K-Kids and their family members, classmates from Bowling Green Elementary School, Clarke Builders Club President Marissa Flaherty and Clarke HS Key Club President Gina Principato.

The acts were evaluated by a distinguished panel of Kiwanis K-Family judges including NY District Key Club Governor Domenick Pesce, KPTC Foundation Board President DPG Joe Corace, NY Circle K ELIMINATE Chair Immediate Past Governor Rickie Santer, Key Club Division 6 Lt. Governor Becky Hopkins and student teacher/volunteer ESL tutor Mary-Jo Formosso. The judges faced a daunting task as they rated the many fantastic performances.

The judges selected Past K-Kids Member Michaela Vivona who performed her original song “Everland” as the Best Act and K-Kids Publicist Danielle Hallet and her Friend Victoria Lorusso who dance to Disney’s “Camp Rock” as the Best Act with a K-Kid.  The results were so close that the judges awarded an additional Best Act trophy which was presented to Jennifer Cabrera and Christina Liaicono who performed “I Just Can’t Get Enough” and an additional Best Act with a K-Kids trophy which went to Jillian Bayoneto who performed “A Thousand Miles” on the piano.

The audience had the opportunity to select the winner of the evening’s top trophy: the People’s Choice Award. Audience members voted by placing dollars into containers marked for each act. Any act receiving more than $70 in their container was named an “Outstanding Performance” and will receive a trophy at a later date. The act with the highest amount in their container received the People’s Choice Award.

There were three “Outstanding Performances” including: Gina Principato singing “Voi Che Sapete,” K-Kids Director Mia Biscardi, Treasurer Kayla Connolly and Vice President Joanna Peters dancing to “Dancing Crazy” and Fallon Panzarella and Rita Posillico who danced to “Pretty Girl Rock”

The People’s Choice Award went to Emily Abbatiello, Farrah Panzarella and Catherine Posillico who danced to “Replay.”

With the close of the curtain, the Talent Show was a huge success, raising $2,700 surpassing last year’s total by nearly $600.
