An episode of “NBC’s George to the Rescue,” featuring the Twible family of East Meadow, will air this Saturday, Sept. 26 at 9 a.m. on NBC.

The Twible family includes parents Robert and Kathy, son Robbie, 13, and daughter Allison, 8.

Hosted by George Oliphant, the show performs free home improvements for people in need. Robbie, a W.T. Clarke eighth-grader, has epidermolysis bullosa, a rare skin disease that causes blistering all over the body.

Because Robbie must wear bandaging daily to protect his skin, a changing table once sat in his room, which his parents said was a constant reminder of his condition.

The renovation of his room, redesigned to include a Broadway theme (Robbie is a Broadway fanatic) also provided a new changing table that is hidden behind a sliding wall in the bedroom.

Filming occurred earlier this summer, and dozens of the Twibles’ neighbors and supporters from W.T. Clarke Middle School were on hand to join in on the festivities.

It is not the first time the family has appeared on television. In February, they were invited onto the popular talk show, “Ellen,” hosted by Ellen DeGeneres, who is one of Robbie’s idols.
