The Central Nassau Athletic Association U-11 softball tournament team won the titles for District 32 and Section 6 in the Williamsport Little League tournament. The team won two out of three games against Islip to clinch the Section 6 title. The girls on the team are all part of the East Meadow School District and attend W.T. Clarke Middle School.

The team is now heading to the state tournament in Rochester Aug. 4, where they will play their first game at noon against Fairport Little League’s U-11 team.

This is the first year that a CNAA girls’ softball team has advanced to the state tournament. Their coaches, Kim Caputo, Bob Hubbard and John Koutsogiannis said they are very proud of the team.
