To the Editor:

Bravo to the Herald! Your publication represents a true community service and is so tuned in to East Meadow and its challenges and opportunities.

Your selection of Helen Meittinis as the Person of the Year gives well-deserved recognition to an individual who has steadfastly worked for the community, its residents and its children.

I am fortunate to know Helen as a person of great community commitment who courageously advocates for our well being before friends, adversaries and public officials of all political persuasions.

East Meadow is a great place in which to live and work due primarily to the dedicated people who live here. Helen Meittinis is one of the best examples of why our town is so special.
