As part of their study of local government, the Honorable Fred J. Hirsh of Nassau County District Court visited fifth-grade students at Meadowbrook Elementary School.
Hirsh spoke to the students about the local judicial system and his job as a judge. The students were able to ask Judge Hirsh many questions and learned a great deal about becoming a judge and the legal system.
Prior to Hirsh’s visit, the students visited the Nassau County Legislature in Mineola, and were given a private tour of the legislative building by Legislator Norma Gonsalves, where they learned about lawmaking at the local level.
