Culinary Delights a tasty success

The East Meadow Chamber of Commerce once again hosted a successful Culinary Delights fundraising dinner on Monday at the Carltun on the Park in Eisenhower Park.

Hundreds lined up throughout the ballroom to taste food and drinks presented by local restaurants, bakeries, confectioners and wine and beer distributors. It was the 11th consecutive year the Chamber hosted the event, which was chaired this year by Adrian Campodonico, Will Miranda and Paul Telese.

Attendees traveled from room to room, sampling different cuisines while listening to music and socializing with fellow community members. Dozens of raffles and a silent auction were also part of the evening’s festivities.

East Meadow High School’s string quartet performed, and Chris Hackert, a Chamber past president, served as the emcee.

The annual event raises funds for several charities. This year, the beneficiaries were the Nassau University Medical Center’s Pediatric Department, the Nassau-Suffolk Autism Society of America, the NY District Kiwanis Foundation Kamp Kiwanis, JDRF Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and EPIC Long Island.

The East Meadow Chamber of Commerce, led by President Dolores Rome, meets on the first Wednesday of each month. The next general membership meeting will be held on Nov. 6 at 6:30 p.m.
