East Meadow Crime Watch

Burglaries
   
- A residence on Prospect Avenue was burglarized between April 12 and April 13. The mode of entry was unknown and assorted jewelry was reported stolen.
    - A home on Bette Road was burglarized sometime between 2:30 a.m. on April 7 and 6 a.m. on April 8. A cell phone, a portable DVD player and a BB gun were reported stolen.
    - A building on 1899 Hempstead Turnpike was broken into on April 4 at about 4:10 p.m. No loss was reported.


Grand larceny auto

    - A 2000 Honda Civic was stolen from a Preston Road residence on April 14.

Robberies

    - Credit cards were stolen from an automobile parked in Eisenhower Park in East Meadow, on April 1, sometime between 4 p.m. and 4:50 p.m.
    - A pocketbook with credit cards was taken from a shopping cart at Stop and Shop on Hempstead Turnpike in East Meadow on April 2 at about 3:20 p.m.
    - A GPS, a radar detector, an iPod and sunglasses were removed from a 2003 BMW and a 2004 BMW parked at a home on Birchwood Drive in Salisbury, sometime between March 30 at 1 a.m. and April 4 at 7 p.m.

Arrest
    - An inmate was arrested after allegedly punching, biting and grabbing another inmate in the face at the Nassau County Correctional Center in East Meadow. The defendant, Preston Foster, of Inwood, was arrested on March 7 at about 7:35 p.m., police said.

Vandalism
    Graffiti was recently discovered on a fence and a boat on Cypress Lane and Cypress Lane East in Salisbury. Unknown suspects used red spray paint. The incident occurred sometime overnight between April 3 at 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. on April 4.  That same morning, graffiti was found on a fence on nearby Cane Lane, using red spray paint.

People named in Crime Watch items as having been arrested and charged with violations or crimes are only suspected of committing those acts of which they are accused. They are all presumed to be innocent of those charges until and unless found guilty in a court of law.
