The Boys U-11 Gold Hawks 99 soccer team from the East Meadow Soccer Club went undefeated in the spring season to win the Long Island Junior Soccer League (LIJSL) division championship. The team practices twice a week at different fields in East Meadow as well as Hofstra University.
“Most of the game scores were very close this season,” said Kristen Sparkowski, mother of team member Daniel, “but the last game of the season–which they needed to win in order to take the championship–was against Oceanside with East Meadow winning 8-1.”
