The East Meadow Board of Education
is scheduled to hold public work meetings on Thursday, Oct. 8 and Oct. 22 at 7 p.m. in the Leon J. Campo Salisbury Center, located on 718 The Plain Road in Salisbury. All work meetings are open to the public to observe.

The East Meadow Board of Fire Commissioners
conducts its regular meetings on the second and third Monday of each month, beginning at 8:30 p.m., in department headquarters on 197 East Meadow Avenue, East Meadow.

meets monthly, usually on the first Wednesday of the month at times and locations to be announced.

The Council of East Meadow Community Organizations
(CEMCO) meets on the fourth Wednesday of every month at 8 p.m. in the East Meadow Library. The next meeting will be held on Oct. 28.

Sons of Italy Edward J. Speno Lodge No. 2568
meets on the second Monday of every month at 7:30 p.m. in the Nassau Cultural Center on 574 East Meadow Avenue in East Meadow. To join the co-ed lodge, or for more information, call Patricia Caruso at (516) 794-9646. The Speno lodge will host a membership drive on Monday, Oct. 12 at 7:30 p.m. in the Cultural center. October is Italian Heritage and Culture month, and the lodge is calling on the Italians/Italian-Americans who would like to join them for this fun evening. Speno Lodge is part of the largest men and women organization in the country.
