Students enrolled in the “History and Perspectives of Learning” class at East Meadow High School visited Woodland Middle School to speak to sixth-grade classes about character education traits.

For the participating high school students, all of whom are considering majoring in education when in college, this was the first lesson plan that required them to interact with their younger peers. The students used the Internet and their creativity to come up with their lessons, and they took advantage of Woodland’s technology by utilizing SMART Boards to convey some of their messages.

Topics covered included anti-bullying, anger management, honesty, respect, trust, ethics, fairness and responsibility.
