Convincing Homecoming win caps off festivities

East Meadow High School kicked off Homecoming 2009 on Oct. 3 with a parade from the high school to Veterans Memorial Park, with colorful floats representing the freshman through senior classes. The theme for 2009 was “Through the Ages.”

Promptly at 1:30 p.m, the football game against the Port Washington Vikings got off to a good start for Jets fans. By halftime, the Jets had surged to a 42-0 lead. The Varsity Cheerleaders, along with members of the high school band, led the crowd in offering encouragement to the team.

During the halftime festivities, the Junior Varsity, Varsity Cheerleaders, Rockettes, and band all performed for the community, keeping spirits up as high as the sunny skies. Halftime festivities culminated with the presentation of the Homecoming Court. Mark Adler was named King, while Jamie Zucker was named Queen. The Jets went on to shut out Port Washington by a score of 49-0.
