McVey Elementary School hosted a Red Ribbon Walk last Wednesday morning to promote wellness.

“Red Ribbon Week is the oldest and largest drug prevention program in the nation,” states the Drug Enforcement Administration website. “By wearing red ribbons and participating in community anti-drug events, young people pledge to live a drug-free life.”

The students at McVey decorated and carried their wellness posters during the walk. The posters promoted healthy eating, exercise and saying no to drugs and cigarettes. As a special surprise, Mr. Met also attended the walk to support the kids as they made the commitment to live healthy lives.
