Meadowbrook students collect pennies for patients

Posted

Meadowbrook Elementary School partnered with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Student Series to help patients and families fight these medical issues through their Pennies for Patients fundraiser.

East Meadow School District officials said the students donated their loose change to help children battling childhood cancers, collecting more than $1,500 in three weeks. To promote the fundraiser, Meadowbrook held two spirit days — “Team Up Against Leukemia” and “Spread Love for a Cure” — during which students, faculty and administrators wore their favorite team jerseys and red or pink clothing, respectively.
