Posted

Meadowbrook Elementary School has once again participated in the Pennies for Patients fundraiser organized by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s School and Youth Programs. Leukemia is the number one childhood disease killer of children under the age of 19. Over 90 percent of the funds raised through Pennies for Patients supports cancer research, education, advocacy, and services for patients.

By working together over a period of three weeks, Meadowbrook School raised a total of $2,292.22 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The class that collected the most money at Meadowbrook received free cookie gift certificates for each student from Panera Bread. That class was Carrie Atchison’s class, who raised $269.93. Denise Nails’ class raised the second highest total with $210.13, and Ellen Jacobson’s class raised the third highest with $205.21.
