Missing man last seen in East Meadow

A man reported missing on Wednesday was last seen in East Meadow, Nassau police said.

According to a Silver Alert issued on Thursday morning, police are searching for Michal Stevens, 27, went missing at 4 p.m. on Wednesday and was last spotted at 323 Starke Avenue in East Meadow. Police said he was believed to be traveling on foot, and possibly was headed to Brooklyn or Lake Charles, La.
   
Stevens was described by authorities as a black male, 5 feet 10 inches, 150 pounds with brown eyes and a medium complexion, and was last seen wearing a dark colored sweatshirt and blue jeans. Police said the endangered person is believed to be suicidal.
   
The Silver Alert Program has been established in order to disseminate immediate information to local media, hospitals and other organizations when a senior citizen or other individuals suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, dementia or other cognitive disorders goes missing, police said.
