Fair Parade kicks off E.M. baseball and softball season

Young athletes got set for the start of the season of the East Meadow Baseball and Softball Association, supporting a banner sponsored by the United Methodist Church.

The East Meadow Baseball and Softball Association stepped into spring with its kickoff parade through the community on April 21. The athletes began their trek at the Veteran’s Memorial Park and headed down Merrick Avenue, stopping at their fields for a barbecue.
Teams decorated banners that featured a local sponsor, with rows of pizza donning the Borelli’s banner, felt sushi creations splashed over the Hunan Dynasty banner and ice cream cones representing Friendly’s.
The East Meadow Fire Department’s Bag Pipes and Drum Corps led the procession down Merrick Avenue. Representatives from the East Meadow Chamber of Commerce and East Meadow Kiwanis were also present to offer their support.
