A homeless man from Westbury was arrested on Wednesday after police say he called the Nassau University Medical Center and stated there was a bomb in the hospital.

According to Nassau County Police, the NUMC received the call, which was anonymous, from a Westbury pay phone at 11:43 p.m. on Tuesday.

The call prompted police to conduct a search of the hospital, both inside and outside, with no findings.

A police investigation led authorities to Victor Perez, 48, who was arrested without incident, police say.

Perez is charged with making a terroristic threat and was scheduled for arraignment Thursday in First District Court in Hempstead.
