Nassau police are searching for leads on an apparent “hit-and-run” that occurred on Wednesday night at about 9 p.m. in East Meadow.

Detectives said a driver traveling northbound on Park Boulevard in Eisenhower Park observed a body partially in the roadway. The victim was transported to the Nassau University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Police identified the victim on Sunday as Leonidas DeJesus Portillo, 24, of West Hempstead.

On Friday, police released an information wanted poster that described the suspected vehicle as a Cadillac Escalade. The model was uncertain, but police said they believed it was somewhere between 2002 and 2006.

Police said anyone with information regarding the incident are asked to contact Crime Stoppers at (800) 244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous, they said.
