A Kings Park man was arrested for DWI on July 10 after he went the wrong way and crashed on a Meadowbrook Parkway exit ramp in East Meadow, state police reported last week.

According to state police, at 11:49 p.m., Douglas Kopczynski, 23, was driving a red Hyundai northbound on the Meadowbrook Parkway, exited at Hempstead Turnpike going eastbound  and then struck a stop sign at the end of the exit ramp. He then crossed Hempstead Turnpike and drove in the wrong direction onto the exit ramp for the Meadowbrook northbound to westbound Hempstead Turnpike, investigators said. The vehicle then became disabled halfway down the exit ramp, police said.

Kopczynski was subsequently arrested for DWI, state troopers said, and charged him with DWI and several traffic violations.
