Sponsored by the East Meadow community and hosted by the Kiwanis Club, the 23rd annual East Meadow Community Pride Day will take place on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Speno Park, at 745 East Meadow Ave.

The family-oriented event will feature a health fair, an art show, games for kids, demonstrations, sports events, fire safety tours, refreshments, live music and more.

The event chairs are Alan Beinhacker, Ellen DeRosa and Liz Fries, and Gregory Peterson is the honorary co-chair. Since there is limited parking at Speno Park, there will be free shuttle bus service from Veterans Memorial Park, at the corner of Prospect and East Meadow avenues, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Local merchants, businesses and community organizations will have booths throughout the park, to give residents an opportunity to learn more about what East Meadow has to offer. In the past, the event has drawn more than 5,000 people.

Admission, and all activities, are free.
