Queens man linked to string of local burglaries

A Queens man was arrested in Woodbury on April 1 in connection with a string of residential burglaries in Nassau, including East Meadow.
    
According to detectives, Fritz Armand, 46, of Jamaica, is accused and charged with five residential burglaries in the East Meadow, Merrick, Plainview and Woodbury 
communities.

Detectives obtained DNA evidence in a January 2010 burglary which led to Armand's arrest, police said. The investigation was conducted jointly by the First and Second Squads. Armand was arraigned in First District Court on April 2 on five charges of Burglary Second Degree. According to court records, Armand was ordered held on a bail set at $80,000 bond or $40,000 cash, and is scheduled to appear in court again on April 16.
