Support the E.M. library spending plan

Posted

The East Meadow Public Library, led by its dynamic staff and an active Board of Trustees, works diligently to offer world-class programs and services to district residents.

Though the usual revenue streams are drying up, the library continues to aggressively pursue grants and assistance, and is often successful in its efforts. Its leadership has even taken a look into the future, securing a federal energy management grant that should result in major savings.

The library continues to offer its popular schedule of musical performers, guest speakers, films and even comedians to go with the programs, lectures and workshops that it offers throughout the year. Its proposed 3.9 percent budget increase is modest, and comparable to other libraries in Nassau County. It continues to move forward in the face of threats of major cuts by the state. We are confident that the EMPL will continue to serve residents like it always has. Vote “yes” on the library budget, and help ensure that residents continue to enjoy East Meadow’s cultural and intellectual hub.
