Nassau County police report on Saturday night that they arrested an East Meadow woman, Janet Chiauzzi, 44, of Central Drive North, on stalking charges.

According to detectives, Chiauzzi sent letters in May to an official with the East Meadow Baseball League and his son that were of a threatening nature, after the woman’s son did not make the summer travel team.

In the letters, police said, Chiauzzi also made threats against the man’s wife and daughter. Both children are under 14.

On June 1, police said, the principal of the children’s school received a letter making claims the official had abused his children. Nassau County Child Protective Services investigated, and reported the allegations unfounded.

Six more letters were sent to the East Meadow Baseball Little League trying to defame the official and force his removal as an official, police reported.

On June 18, Chiauzzi was arrested and charged with two counts of second-degree stalking, two counts of third-degree stalking, two counts of third-degree falsely reporting an incident, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, and four counts of second-degree aggravated harassment.

She was scheduled to have been arraigned on June 19.
