The Kiwanis Club of the Five Towns was honored by Kiwanis International with the designation of Distinguished, recognized by their peers for having their membership grow in the 2017-2018 term.

On Feb. 14, Valentine’s Day, members Five Towns Kiwanis and East Rockaway Kiwanis members visited residents at the Five Towns Premier Rehabilitation Center in Woodmere and then visited East Rockaway Rehab. Residents were each presented with a flower.

March is a busy month for the Kiwanians. On the 16th, the Five Towns club will hosts its first-ever Bingo night. The club then hosts its annual Police Officer Appreciation Night, Frank’s Steaks in Rockville Centre at 7 p.m. on March 21. Members of the Nassau County Police Department’s 4th Pct. (and their spouses) will be honored for their service to the community. Four course meal, $35 per person. That date is also the 75th anniversary of the club, making it one of the oldest charitable service organizations on the South Shore, Kiwanis officials said.
