Community residents, Lawrence teachers and students came together at the Imperial Room at 359 Doughty Blvd. in Inwood on Thanksgiving Day to serve food to area people affected by Hurricane Sandy.

There was a wide array of food, beverages and desserts. Volunteers also packed up containers to take to residents that could not get to the two-hour event. Students that volunteered earned community service hours.
