Fair Fire at Inwood food manufacturer

Three fire departments extinguished a fire at Le Chateaux de France at 1 Craft Ave, in Inwood on Monday.

What fire officials called a small fire was reported at 5 a.m. on Monday at 1 Craft Ave. in Inwood, the building that houses Le Chateaux de France, makers of hand crafted Hors D'Oeuvres and frozen snacks.
The fire started over a commercial stove inside the building, said Inwood Fire Chief Gaetano Marino. “The fire was extinguished quickly, with no injuries,” he said. “It happened over a stove, on the ceiling. It’s a commercial property, where food is processed.”
Along with Inwood, firefighters from the Lawrence-Cedarhurst and Hewlett departments responded. The Woodmere, Meadowmere Park and Long Beach firefighters served as the covering departments.
