College honors earned
Woodmere resident Michael Wotman made the Cornell University College of Arts and Sciences spring semester dean’s list.
SUNY Geneseo named Luisa Perez, from Lawrence, to its spring semester President’s list. A student must achieve a 4.0 GPA in all course work and take at least 12 credits. Cedarhurst resident Nicole Eras and Jessica Aroose, of Hewlett, made the dean’s list. Eligibility requires at least a 3.5 GPA and a minimum of 12 credits.
Lawrence resident Elizabeth Kirshenbaum graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s in political science from Bucknell University, received the Charles Longley prize, is a member of Pi Sigma Alpha, the national poly-sci honor society, and made the dean’s list.
Dean’s list students at SUNY Oneonta included Zena Ballas, of Cedarhurst, Samuel Hochman, of Hewlett, Catherine Kenny, of Inwood, and Sarah Bernstein, of Woodmere.

Pratt Institute named Hewlett resident Abigail Cotler to its spring semester President’s list and Mark Ehrenreich, of Woodmere, made the school’s dean’s list.
Johanna Ben-Ami, Jared Kahn and Heather Kaminker, all of Hewlett, earned dean’s list honors for the spring semester from the Emory College of Arts and Sciences of Emory University in Atlanta. Students must be in the top 20 percent of have a GPA of 3.859 or higher to qualify.
Shlomo Greenblatt, of Lawrence, was named to the honors list for the spring semester at Fairleigh Dickinson University’s metropolitan campus in Teaneck, NJ. A student must have a 3.5 or better GPA (out of 4.0) and be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credits for eligibility.
Woodmere resident Monica Sigler made the Marist College dean’s list for the spring semester. Sigler is expected to graduate in 2016.
The University of Hartford has Edan Sabah, of Cedarhurst, Adam Khan, of Hewlett, Motisola Mutema, of Inwood, Zachary Parker, of North Woodmere, and Julia Piro, of Woodmere, on its spring semester dean’s list.
Gabrielle Orena, an Atlantic Beach resident, was named to Providence College’s spring semester’s dean’s list. Students must attain at least a 3.55 GPA in a minimum of 12 credits.

Graduated from college
Graduating from Hofstra University at the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex on May 18-19 were: Lori Dugan, a master of science in education, specializing in counseling; Brittany Garfinkel, a bachelor’s in management; Raquel Garfinkel, a bachelor’s in community health; Nicholas Gellman, a bachelor’s in community health and Brett Haber, a bachelor’s in sociology, all of Woodmere. Jennifer Hearst, of Hewlett, a master’s in health services management and North Woodmere resident Roy Shmuel, a bachelor’s in accounting.
SUNY New Paltz held its graduation on May 18. Bachelor degrees were earned by Nicholas Fodera, of Inwood, in communication media; Hewlett resident Allison Leshowitz in English; Evan Perlzweig, of Woodmere, in history and Atlantic Beach resident in psychology.
The University of Hartford also held its commencement on May 18.
 Adam Khan, of Hewlett, graduated from Hartford’s Barney School of Business with a degree in entrepreneurial studies.
Boston University awarded degrees to Jimin Xu in economics, Eve K. Boyle in anthropology (summa cum laude, dean’s list), Mirabella Katz in business administration and management (magna cum laude, dean’s list) and Dara D. Slepoy in history (cum laude).
Certificates of Advanced Study were awarded to Angela Scalesi, of Inwood, and Craig Dorsi of Cedarhurst from the College of Saint Rose in Albany.
Woodmere residents Lauren Bienstock and Sabine Sanon, and Seth Yegelwel, of Hewlett, and Esther Jonas, of Inwood, graduated from Farmingdale State College on May 17.
Catherine Kenny and Terence Parker, both of Inwood, Dylan Glabman, of Hewlett, and Jorie Cohen, of North Woodmere, graduated from SUNY Oneonta on May 17.
Lawrence resident Michael Sorrentino received his bachelor’s degree in music education from SUNY Potsdam.
Arts major Rachel Haber, of Woodmere, was one of 500 students who received diplomas during Union College’s 220th graduation on June 15.
