Fair Game in memory of Gio raises over $6,000

Eighth grade boys from the Hebrew Academy of the Five Towns and Rockaway Hawks and the Inwood Buccaneers Athletic Club played a basketball game as part of a fundraiser and tribute to Giovanni Cipriano at HAFTR in Lawrence on Nov. 6.
The more than $6,000 raised through the $10 admission fee, 50/50 raffle and raffles for sports memorabilia will be donated to the Cipriano family of Lawrence to help defray medical costs and other expenses.
On Oct. 1, Cipriano went into anaphylactic shock by mistakenly eating a peanut product. He had stopped breathing but was resuscitated and remained in a coma until he died on Oct. 18
