New trustee in Lawrence; Israel is Woodsburgh mayor

In the trustee race, newcomer Jake Harman collected the most votes in the at-large race for two seats with 161. Incumbent Trustee Gary Goffner won re-election with 151, while sitting Trustee Carl Cayne received 64 votes.

Harman seeks to improve communication with the residents and have an open dialogue with the school district. Alleviating the residents’ tax burden and keeping an eye on spending are Goffner’s primary concerns.

Atlantic Beach
Incumbent Atlantic Beach trustees Danae A. Muddiman (79 votes) and Andrew Rubin (93) both ran uncontested for the two-year terms.

Challenger Michael Meyerson defeated incumbent Village Justice Barry H. Serper 103 to 32 for the four-year term.

The Hewlett villages
All the candidates were uncontested for the two-year trustee terms. In Hewlett Harbor Len Oppenheimer won re-election for his fourth term. Michael Yohai was elected.
Gail Rubel, Alex Salomon and Jay Levy were elected in Hewlett Bay Park, and in Hewlett Neck it was Brett Cooper and Michael Levine.
