Village of Lawrence enduring sporadic outages
FEMA meeting on Wednesday at Congregation Beth Shalom
The Village of Lawrence is enduring sporadic power outages as a result of isolated problems including blown transformers, according to Mayor Martin Oliner. There will also be periodic shut-offs where LIPA will be restoring additional generation equipment. This is likely to continue for the next week. You should plan your purchase of refrigerated and frozen foods accordingly. A community town hall meeting with representatives from FEMA is slated for Wednesday, Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. at Congregation Beth Shalom at 390 Broadway in Lawrence. FEMA representatives will provide an overview of the FEMA claims process for homeowners and businesses and will be available to answer questions.
