Longtime Ocean Beach Club member and World War II veteran Robert B. Kullman died on Jan. 7 in Pompano Beach. Fla. He was 93.
Born in Manhattan on Nov. 23, 1920, Kullman’s family moved to the Five Towns, where he graduated from Woodmere High School in 1939. He earned a degree from Fordham University in 1943.
He served his country during World War II and was honorably discharged as a master staff sergeant. After the war, Kullman joined his father in the commodity market, working in New York’s financial district.

He was a great hunter. He loved to hunt in South Africa. When he moved to Florida he built a room just for the trophies he got.”
