The popular daytime talk show “The View” hosted its third annual “Mutt Show” during the week of the American Kennel Club’s competition to bring attention to shelter animals and mixed breeds.

Presented by Pedigree, the show featured viewers’ dogs as well as shelter dogs — Mutt-i-grees — brought from North Shore Animal League America in Port Washington.

A panel of judges, including David Frei, of Westminister Kennel Club Dog Show fame, looked over the parade of pooches and chose “Best in Show” — Kable, whose trainer is Mike Malloy, East Rockaway resident and head behavorist at NSALA

Happily, all the dogs featured on the show were adopted. Reality star Denise Richards adopted “Chocolate Chip.”
