Police seek three men for Lawrence robbery and assault

A verbal argument between two men escalated into an alleged assault at the intersection of Peninsula Boulevard and Mill Road in Hewlett on May 7 at 1:30 p.m., police said.

Jason, Shure, 20, of Claridge Ave. in Elmont hit a 21-year-old man on the top of the head with a wrench, according to police. The man suffered a cut to his head that required medical attention. He was taken to a local hospital. What they argued about is unclear, police said.

Shure was arrested on May 9 and was charged with assault-second degree and was arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on May 10.

A 14-year-old boy walking by Rockaway Turnpike and Pearsall Avenue in Lawrence was allegedly robbed and assaulted by three men at 4:20 p.m. on May 9, according to police.

One man who demanded his cell phone first bumped the boy. As the teen tried to run away, this man grabbed him, knocked the phone to the ground and it shattered. He then punched the boy in the face, police said. Another man kicked the boy in the abdomen and ribs.

After the boy saw a third man reach into his pocket for what the teen thought was a weapon, he then was able to get up and fled. The men left in an unknown direction, according to police. The boy was treated for minor injuries by a Nassau County Ambulance emergency medical technician.

One man is described as black, five-feet, six-inches tall, weighing 140 pounds, with dark wavy hair and a dark complexion, wearing a white T-shirt with an American Eagle logo on front and black and white sneakers.

Another man is described as black, five-feet, four-inches in height, weighing 120 pounds, light skinned and wearing green, black and white Michael Jordan sneakers. A third man is described as black, also five-feet, six-inches tall, weighing 140 pounds, with short dark hair and dark skin.
