Atlantic Beach Rescue answers the calls

In a 12-hour period last weekend from Saturday night into Sunday morning, Atlantic Beach Rescue members responded to five emergency calls that included providing mutual aid to the Point Lookout/Lido and Long Beach fire departments.
While in Long Beach, ambulance 369 was dispatched to an opiate overdose.

Emergency medical technicians revived the person and took the patient to South Nassau Communities Hospital in Oceanside. The same ambulance was then called to take a woman, the widow of a recently deceased Rescue squad member, who had broken her shoulder to the hospital.

Ambulance 369 and Rescue truck 366 responded to a car accident at Park Street in Atlantic Beach, where power lines were down and the motorist was trapped in the vehicle. Along with Long Beach firefighters and Nassau County police, Rescue members helped to remove the driver, who was then taken to a trauma center in critical condition, officials said.
