Attempted robbery at Cedarhurst bank

A man who allegedly passed a note to a teller attempted to rob the Citibank at 530 Central Ave, in Cedarhurst at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, police said.

He fled the scene without any money and in an unknown direction on Central Avenue, according to police. There were eight employees in the bank at the time and no customers. No injuries were reported.

He is identified as white, 5-feet, 9-inches tall between 50- to 60-years-old with an average build, a scruffy white beard, wearing a blue denim baseball cap, glasses, a gray coat with a hoodie sweatshirt and a button down shirt.
