Attempted robbery in Cedarhurst

Victim injured, but robbers come away empty handed

Three men approached a 29-year-old man on Central Avenue in Cedarhurst at midnight on Jan. 22, and one of the three demanded money. When that demand was refused, the man struck the victim in the right side of his face, which resulted in a cut and a swelled right eye, police said.

Able to flee, the victim called police. He refused medical attention. The three men came away with no money, according to police. Anyone with information regarding this incident are asked to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-8477. All calls are kept confidential.
