No holiday season is complete without a retelling of Dickens’ beloved “A Christmas Carol.” All ages will be charmed by Plaza Theatrical Productions’ staging of this 60-minute adaptation of the beloved musical. Follow miserly Ebenezer Scrooge as he learns the true spirit of the holidays, as he is saved from his loveless life. The cast includes 12-year-old Lynbrook South Middle School student Jayden Moreno, of East Rockaway, as Tiny Tim, and Franklin Square resident Kathryn Quigley as Mrs. Cratchit. Join Scrooge on his journey of redemption as he realizes that “mankind should be my business” and that one little boy is of greater weight than all the gold in his strongbox.

Take some time out to refresh and recharge with a visit to Muttontown Preserve. Observe some of our feathered friends who make Long Island their home during the winter on special guided hike. Enjoy the season’s beauty on a two-hour nature walk where you’ll have an opportunity to observe such cold weather birds as woodpeckers, hawks, Nuthatches, and Brown Creepers. See how the coming of winter affects the preserve’s landscape, with the help of an experienced guide, while strolling along the paths and fields, including some spectacular views in the main field.
