Bridging their scouting path

Five Towners earn Arrow of Light awards

Sam Cota, Forrest Gerlich and Carson Libbey, of Hewlett, Woodmere and Atlantic Beach, respectively earned their Arrow of Light, the highest award in Cub Scouts and during what is known as a “bridging” ceremony officially moved from Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts at the Inwood firehouse on March 2.
All the boys are Webelos II scouts, the highest rank in Cub Scouts. Several requirements need to be completed to earn the Arrow of Light, including knowing or explaining the Scout Oath, the 12 points of scout law, explaining how a Boy Scout uniform differs from a Webelos uniform, earn a total of eight activity badges and take part in a Webelos overnight camp out or day hike.
