Students participate in annual science fair

Posted

Approximately 75 Brandeis School students from the fifth, sixth and seventh grades took part in the school’s science fair on May 24.

The fair featured a broad scope of projects as the fifth graders created an invention, which dovetailed with their research about inventions as part of the writing program.

Sixth graders put together more conventional science fair projects that included conducting research, experiments and collecting data, then presenting that information on tri-fold boards.

A challenge was issued to the seventh graders as they selected one of two types of projects. One involved having a marble move on a track — as slowly as possible and the other was about creating a path of motion to eventually water a plant.

Most of the students worked independently except for some group projects by the seventh graders. There were grade winners for best project all participants received a certificate.
