Builders Club members are busy

This school year the Woodmere Middle School Kiwanis Builders Club, sponsored by the Peninsula Kiwanis, has held three fundraisers and one food and cleaning supplies drive. They began the year by raising funds for the Kiwanis UNICEF Eliminate project. For their second project, a food drive was conducted for hurricane victims.

The club then sold bracelets for “Golden Heroes Boxes.” The group sends boxes with toys, games and drawing materials to children undergoing cancer treatment in hospitals. For their third fundraiser, club members sold carnations for Valentine’s Day to raise money for SIBSPlace, the South Nassau Community Hospital sponsored program that offers emotional support for children who have a sibling or parent with a serious illness.
