A car came through the side yard of Village Mayor Andrew J. Parise’s house at 469 Arbuckle Avenue in Cedarhurst, hit a tree and stopped between another tree and the home at 9:15 p.m. on Dec. 21, officials said.

“Lawrence-Cedarhurst firefighters responded to the scene and had to extricate the lone male driver who was pinned in the Ford Crown Victoria,” said LCFD Chief Joseph Sperber.

The man, suffering from serious but non-life threatening injuries, was taken by LCFD ambulance to Jamaica Hospital.

"I don't know how he did it, but the car hit one tree, then came around and the car was wedged between another tree and the house," said Parise, adding that the crash ripped off part of his home's siding.

Nassau County police are investigating the cause of the accident.
