Car hits 6-year-old girl in Woodmere

Child suffered non-life threatening injuries

             At 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday, a woman, 39, driving a 2015 Infiniti heading south on Barnard Avenue in Woodmere struck a 6-year-old girl who was crossing the street at Barnard Avenue near Poe Street, police said.

            The girl suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital, according to police. Hatzalah Ambulance Corps, a volunteer unit, responded to the scene.

            Brake and safety checks were performed at the scene. The accident was deemed to be a non-criminal incident, police said.
