Classic cars commute into Cedarhurst

Vintage vehicles ranging from exotic cars, hot rods, muscle cars and trucks were on display at the sixth annual Cedarhurst Car Show at Andrew J. Parise Cedarhurst Park on Sept. 15. The free, six-hour event included than 100 classic and collectible cars, some lovingly original or carefully restored to mint condition or modified for performance. 

John Steiler said he has been into cars for most of his life. “As a kid, I always had a passion for cars,” he said as he sat behind his very cool looking 2007 Z 06 Chevrolet Corvette with a LS 7 motor that revs up to 480 horsepower. “It’s nasty car,” Steiler said, adding that he attends many shows and “enjoys the relationships” and of his hobby, “it’s a labor of love,” he said.

Empire Muscle Cars a group of big engine car enthusiasts from New York City sat under a tent near their cars. Club President Victor Doto said that the members attend many car shows, including having members at multiple shows on the same day.

“It’s not just a club, we’re a family,” he said, adding that the group also takes part in shows to raise money for causes ranging from autism to cancer. Doto noted that some clubs have strict rules.
