Congregation Beth Emeth in Hewlett held a farewell party at its 36 Franklin Ave. temple on June 30.
The Reconstructionist Jewish congregation is in the process of selling its 15,400-square foot building to the Lilies International Outreach Church, a Christian ministry.
It is expected that the congregation will lease space from Central Synagogue in Rockville Centre. Congregation Beth Emeth will retain its autonomy, but the two congregations are planning to collaborate on certain programs and projects.
There was an end of Shabbat service, a buffet supper, music and dancing and a farewell program at the party.
