The Hebrew Academy of Nassau County an elementary school in Plainview held its third Family Shabbaton at the Glen Cove Mansion from Nov. 22-23.
Woodmere resident Rabbi Kalman Fogel, HANC’s principal, presided over a two-day event that sought to focus what Shabbat brings to the family and learning to appreciate the gifts God provides.
Families shared a pre-Shabbat buffet and each family received a gift basket made by Tara Stier, a parent of a second-grader. Parents connected with each other as the children played with their schoolmates.
In addition to morning services on Saturday and Torah learning, juggler and magician Ned Gelfars provided entertainment.
