The annual Simchat Beit Hashovea celebration held by Chabad of the Five Towns in Andrew J. Parise Cedarhurst Park last Saturday night featured music from Azamra DJ, dancing and assorted tricks by Chinese acrobat Xaio Di during the three-hour event.
Simchat Beit Hashovea is a commemoration of the ancient tradition of pouring wine and oil at the altar in the Holy Temple, when sacrifices were offered. In contemporary times, it is also a fulfillment of the mitzvah to rejoice during the Sukkot holiday.
