Davis Renov Stahler students rock the tisch in West Hempstead

The West Hempstead home of Mordechai Strauss, a Davis Renov Stahler Yeshiva for Boys High School sophomore, hosted the Woodmere school’s annual tisch, a gathering that includes discussion on Torah topics and the singing of traditional melodies and hymns.

Nearly 130 boys and many rabbis, including many eighth graders who live in West Hempstead, also dined on chulent, a traditional Jewish stew, and kugel, a baked pudding or casserole, and joined together in religious spirit. Sophomore Yoni Schneider and his family also opened their house to the tisch, where a meal was served.

School officials said that it was a “rocking tisch” at the Strauss home and they expressed their gratitude to both families for the “incredible hospitality.”
